Lawrence County FFA Teams take top places at State Competition
The Lawrence County Conservation District recently hosted a practice session for the county’s high school demonstration teams at their annual luncheon. The three teams competed at the Pennsylvania State Farm Show this year which was held in Harrisburg from January 10th through the 17th , 2015. Mohawk FFA, with advisor Cliff Wallace, placed First in the state with its “Gas Conversion” demonstration on converting gas engines to natural or propane gas. Team members are Dylan Clark, Timothy Murtha, Anthony Musitano, Scott Relic, and Randy Pauline. Placing Third was the team from Wilmington High School advised by Joanna McKelvey. The students demonstrated how to keep bees and harvest honey in their “None of Your Beeswax” demonstration. Team members are Hunter Lilly, Wyatt Snyder, Zeb Horchler and Jacob Schooley. Placing Seventeenth overall was the team from Laurel High School advised by Randy Harrold on Grain Bin Safety, demonstrating how to safely rescue someone who has fallen in to a grain bin. Team members are Jayme O’Brian, Jake Petronelis, Bricen Mayberry, Greg Park and Aaron Sniezek.
